Back to Basics is a personal challenge created to simplify but push the way I had been hand lettering. Initially I tended to focus on longer phrases so Back to Basics was a way to focus on one letterform as opposed to many. A cornerstone of this alphabet was to incorporate as many mediums and tools as possible, from cinemagraphs and animations to cut paper and illustrations.
